
Thank heavens for that, then. In the referendum in Venezuela on Sunday, the constitutional reform project granting Chavez the right, among others, to be reelected indefinitely was rejected. With 88% of the votes counted, 50.7% of the voters said no, and 48.9% said yes.
However, with an abstention of 44.9%, there is a lot to be said about the results.
